Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC) Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC) can be described as an institution located in Rochester, New York, that is dedicated to education for the community in the fields of science, technology, along with local history. The museum was founded in 1912 under the name of it was known as the Rochester Municipal Museum. The museum’s first curator, Edward D. Putnam, was in charge from 1913 until 1924, when New York archaeologist Arthur C. Parker became the museum director. Parker began to increase the museum’s collections and conduct studies in geology, anthropology and natural history, biology, and the development and history that shaped the Genesee Region. Stephen Thomas, an experienced museum professional, who trained at Philadelphia’s Academy of Natural Sciences, was appointed by Parker as director of the museum in 1945. By 1930 the title of the museum became the Rochester Museum of Arts and Sciences.

RMSC permanent exhibits provide visitors with an interactive, unique educational experience. Strasenburgh Planetarium
The Strasenburgh Planetarium is a public planetarium situated at 663 East Avenue in Rochester, NYC. Its name is a tribute to its patrons, Edwin and Clara Strasenburgh. It is a part that is part of the Rochester Museum and Science Center. The Planetarium was inaugurated on September 14th, 1968. Its 65 feet-diameter Star Theater originally seated 240 people. The seats that were originally installed were replaced in 1985. in the current configuration, the theater has a capacity of 215. The Star Theater has the world’s original Zeiss Mark VI Planetarium projector and is still operating. The planetarium gained international attention for being the first to be fully computer-controlled. It was famous for its programming and technical advancements.
Cumming Nature Center
The Cumming Nature Center (CNC) is a 900-acre environmental educational facility near Naples, New York. It is owned by the Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC). The preserve has more than fifteen miles of trails. It also offers education programs and opportunities for service learning. The preserve was founded in 1973 thanks to the gift of the Cumming family to the Rochester Museum & Science Center CNC, the landscape of CNC is home to a wide range of habitats, such as abandoned fields, conifer plantations, swamps as well as ponds, marshes as well as upland forest. Visitors can also tour the Visitor Center with various interactive exhibits, educational displays, play spaces, and the possibility of a classroom.
